About the Odaka series
Odaka is a model inspired by the district of Odaka in Minamisoma City, Fukushima, where our company is based.
After the 2011 disaster, people gradually returned and community life has been slowly rebuilding.
Each color captures the landscape, memory, and culture of that region—quiet, deep, story-rich tones rather than flashy colors—meant to blend naturally into everyday wear and remain companions for a long time.
Themes behind the new colors
Salmon Grey — a story of return

In the rivers of Odaka, salmon have long been a seasonal sight as they return upstream to their birthplace.
This quiet, powerful flow is mirrored in the grey dial color.
After evacuation, people have been returning, and life is regrowing.
The act of returning is itself a force of life.
We connected salmon’s upstream journey from sea to river with the return of residents, expressing that hope as a gentle grey.
This color fits both formal and casual styles, conveying the story of return calmly and brightly.

Persimmon Orange — wearing the harvest of Odaka

Many homes in Odaka have persimmon trees passed down over generations.
Autumn brings ripe fruit; winter brings dried persimmons and persimmon rice cakes at the table.
This tradition shapes a community culture of sharing seasonal blessings.
The clear, warm orange dial embodies that brightness, warmth, and positive touch.
Persimmon Orange links family and town memories to the future, offering a subtle but uplifting accent in daily life.

Grape Purple — turning Odaka into a wine region

Vineyards now spread in Odaka, led by local growers who are challenging themselves to build a new future.
One example is the work of Koyagi Farm—started by a former dairy farmer who returned after evacuation and began grape cultivation in 2019 on land that once housed cattle.
Today, they farm several hectares with thousands of vines, supported by volunteers and local residents.
They shipped their first grapes in 2021 and even tried a rare red sparkling wine in 2024.
Their goal is local wine rooted in the land, using regional resources such as recycled shell fertilizer to nurture vines.
They aim to create wine loved by local people, growing a future from land that was once lost.
Grape Purple carries this color of renewal and challenge, quietly holding the time of the town.
It becomes a gentle presence on the wrist, symbolizing both history and hope.
